Uni-Lions News: Felix Doubront
After missing out on Travis Banwart the other week, the Uni-Lions went back to the drawing board intending to find another suitable foreign pitcher.
On July 23, rumours surfaced that Brett Oberholtzer could be a potential candidate for the Uni-Lions. Later in that afternoon, the Uni-Lions’ general manager confirmed the team had found a new foreign player with MLB and KBO experience. Many speculated that pitcher is Felix Doubront in the Mexican League.

However, after several days, it was all quiet on the signing front. On July 25, according to the Uni-Lions’ general manager, they had sent a contract to Felix Doubront along with the buyout terms to his team in the Mexican League.
“We are just waiting for the signature at this stage,” said the Uni-Lions’ general manager.
On July 27, there was still no news regarding the signing. It begins to look like the Uni-Lions are struggling to sign Felix Doubront from the Mexican League.
According to the Uni-Lions’ general manager, they will wait another two more days. After that, they will move on to other foreign pitcher options.
