Pikachu, I Choose You as WBSC U-12 Ambassador!
The world-famous cartoon character Pikachu along with his Pokemon buddies have been named as the Global Ambassador of the 2019 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup.
New Facility: Asia-Pacific Baseball Training Centers
Under the current plan, Tainan City’s Asia-Pacific International Baseball Stadiums and Training Centers (currently under construction) is going to host the biannual U-12 tournament from July 26 to August 4.
With the tournament moving to a different facility, the Uni-Lions will no-longer have to give up their home stadium. The Uni-Lions had to loan their home stadium to the WBSC back in 2015 and 2017.
Another concern within the Taiwanese baseball community is will the new stadium be ready in time? According to the Tainan City Council, the first stage of construction progress is currently at 55%.
