CTBC Brothers News: Eric Stout

On January 21, the CTBC Brothers announced the re-signing of Eric Stout for the 2024 CPBL season. The 30-year-old American left-hander will return to Taiwan on February 15 to begin his second season in the CPBL.

In 2023, Eric Strout joined the CTBC Brothers as one of the mid-season signings and quickly stole the media spotlight with his killer sweeper in his debut. In over 12 starts, Stout posted a 3.28 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 68.2 innings.

Although there were some signs of him running out of gas towards the end of the season, with his velocity dropping and an increase in his BB%, he still finished the year with an outstanding 27.9 K% and 25.9 Whiff%.

As of today, the CTBC Brothers have Shawn Morimando, José De Paula, Kirk McCarty, Daniel Mengden and Eric Stout as their foreign players for the 2024 CPBL season.

It is worth mentioning four out of those five foreign pitchers are left-handers. When asked by the media whether that was intentional, the CTBC Brothers GM revealed that they sign foreign players based on their ability.
