CTBC Brothers News: Emilio Vargas

On July 5, Emilio Vargas, the 26-year-old Dominican right-hander, revealed on his social media that he had been signed by the CTBC Brothers of the CPBL.

In an Instagram post, Emilio Vargas said that he appreciates the CTBC Brothers for giving him this opportunity, and he will soon travel to Taiwan to play for the team.

Emilio Vargas was active in the MLB system from 2015 to 2022 and reached Triple-A. In 2022, he posted a 6.61 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 32.2 innings in Triple-A and a 5.20 ERA over 79.2 innings in Double-A.

After leaving affiliated baseball, Emilio Vargas went to Mexico and played for the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos of the LMB. Before the signing with the CTBC Brothers, he has compiled a 4.50 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 13 starts and 70 innings.

As of today, the CTBC Brothers currently have the following foreign players on their active roster: José De Paula, Francisco Peña, Tyler Viza, Nick Kingham and Emilio Vargas.
