Cheng Hao-Chun Likely to Sign With MLB Team
It would appear one of the potential first-round draft pick candidates is likely go overseas instead of entering the 2019 CPBL Draft.
According to ETtoday, NTSU’s 21-year-old right-hander 鄭浩均 (Cheng Hao-Chun) has received multiple offers from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Cheng Hao-Chun stands 188cm and weight 89kg. He throws a fastball topping out at 153kph (95mph) along with a sinker, curveball, slider, changeup and forkball.
In 2018, Cheng represented Taiwan in the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup. In two starts against Mexico and Dominican Republic Cheng posted a solid 1.74 ERA, 0.96 WHIP with 8 strikeouts across 10.1 innings.
