Brothers closer Chen Hung-Wen returns as starter after 3 years

After spending the last 3 years as Chinatrust Brothers closer.  陳鴻文 (Chen Hung-Wen) will returns to his original role as starting pitcher tonight against Fubon Guardians.

SP Cheng Kai-Wen to RP

With the team’s #4 starting pitcher 鄭凱文 (Cheng Kai-Wen) struggling and lost his fastball velocity the last 2 months.  Skipper Cory Snyder have decided to pull Cheng out of the rotation and start him in the bullpen in hope to provide some stability in Brothers paper thin bullpen.

RP Chen Hung-Wen to SP

陳鴻文 (Chen Hung-Wen) returned to CPBL in 2013 after spent 6 seasons in the Chicago Cubs system (Peaked at Triple-A).  With fastball with movement topping at 155kph (95mph) and not afraid to throw inside, Chen has been pretty successful with outstanding stats as the starting pitcher in his first two season in the CPBL.

In August 2014, Chen was sidelined with inflammation in his shoulder tendon.  After returning from the disabled list, the management decided to use Chen as a reliever ever since.

I watched Chen’s footage as starting pitcher back in the day, I believe his able to handle the starting role.  We have set a pitch limit for Chen. (4 to 5 innings or 60 to 65 pitches)”  Said Brother skipper Cory Snyder.
