CPBL Foreign Players Updates Volume #307
Fubon Guardias News: Enderson Franco
Signing foreign relievers is probably one of the worst things a team could do to themselves in the CPBL. It appears the Guardians still have this weird fascination about it and plan to keep this experiment going.
On January 14, the Fubon Guardians announced the re-signing of Enderson Franco for the 2024 CPBL season. The 31-year-old hard-throwing right-hander is set to return for his third season in Taiwan. According to the team, Franco is scheduled to join the spring training in early February.
“Very happy that I will return to Taiwan, see you all soon,” said Enderson Franco on his Instagram.
If we were to use one word to describe Enderson Franco’s performance in the 2023 season, it would be “unhittable”. During his 52 relief outings, he posted a dominating 0.95 ERA, 0.77 WHIP with 9 saves, and 17 holds over 66.1 innings. It is also worth mentioning that he has one of the highest K% (28.9) and Whiff% (27%) in the league.
In November 2023, the Fubon Guardians GM told TSNA that the NPB and KBO teams are showing interest in Enderson Franco. Unfortunately, it did not pan out in the end.
