Brothers’ Chou Szu-Chi set CPBL record for 7 consecutive walk

Chinatrust Brothers’ veteran outfielder 周思齊 (Chou Szu-Chi), who was nicknamed by fans as the “Asian King of walk” during the 2013 WBC tournament have set the CPBL record for 7 consecutive plate appearance with a walk.  A record record previously held by Monkeys’ 林智平 (Lin Chih-Ping) with 6.

Chance to extend the walk record

Chou will have the opportunity to extend the CPBL consecutive walk record even further in tonight’s game against Lamigo Monkeys.

Chou Szu-Chi is currently hitting .311/.434/.491 with 132 wRC+.  It’s worth noting his last 10 games stats the OBP is off the chart at 0.545 as he drew 13 walks in 44 plate appearances.


Update on 19-May-2017

Chou Szu-Chi has ended his consecutive walk streak at 8 plate appearances.  This is now the new CPBL record.
