CPBL Foreign Players Updates Volume #367
Wei Chuan Dragons News: Jasier Herrera
On January 12, the Wei Chuan Dragons announced the re-signing of Jasier Herrera for the 2025 CPBL season. The 27-year-old Colombian right-hander will return for his second season in Taiwan.
In 2024, Jasier Herrera never got the opportunity to make his CPBL debut. He spent his entire season in the CPBL minor league, posting a slightly below-average 3.82 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 94.1 innings with a low 10.6 K% and 12.9 Whiff%.
Based on his 2024 performance, the Dragons will most likely continue to assign Jasier Herrera as the organisation’s backup foreign pitcher in the 2025 season.
With the re-signing of Jasier Herrera, the Wei Chuan Dragons now have Drew Gagnon (2-year deal) and Bryan Woodall (domestic status) as their foreign players. The team are expected to sign two more foreign players.

Foreign players come and go. Therefore, we have compiled a foreign player tracker, and I’ll be updating that list regularly to keep pace with the ever-changing roster shuffle throughout the 2025 CPBL season.
