Uni-Lions News: Jordan Balazovic

On January 9, TSNA reported that the Uni-Lions have signed Jordan Balazovic for the 2026 CPBL season. According to the team, the 27-year-old Canadian right-hander is expected to arrive in Taiwan in early February.

Jordan Balazovic began his professional career in 2016 with the Minnesota Twins organisation. After several years of development in the minor leagues, he eventually made his MLB debut with the Twins in 2023. Over 18 appearances, he posted a 4.44 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across 24.1 innings.

After spending the first half of the 2024 season in Triple-A, where he recorded a 5.60 ERA over 35.1 innings, an opportunity in the KBO arose midseason. Jordan Balazovic went on to sign with the Doosan Bears and finished the remainder of the 2024 KBO season with a 4.26 ERA and 1.43 WHIP, along with 69 strikeouts and 28 walks over 57 innings.

In 2025, Jordan Balazovic returned to the MLB system, signing a minor league deal with the Detroit Tigers and being assigned to Triple-A. He compiled a 3.69 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 53 innings of work.

As per the 2025 Triple-A season data on Prospect Savant, Jordan Balazovic throws 4 pitches, a 4-seam fastball (93.5 mph), changeup (88.2 mph), curveball (81.9 mph) and an almost right handed hitter exclusive slider (86.1 mph).

With the signing of Jordan Balazovic, the Uni-Lions currently have Brock Dykxhoorn (2-year deal) and Jackson Stephens as their group of foreign players for the 2026 season.
