Chinatrust Brothers 2017 merchandise sales
The CPBL merchandise powerhouse is no more. As Brothers is looking at $700,000 USD in year to date merchandise sales, which placed them last in the league. The organisation suffered a whopping 70% drop from $2.2 million from 2016 season.
We put together several reasons we think that might contribute to the massive drop in both attendance and merchandise sales in 2017 for Brothers.
- Team not doing well, fans simply not attending the game.
- Changing marketing and design company.
- Lose their old home stadium Xinzhuang to Fubon Guardians.
- In-fighting in the front office, replacing GM in the middle of 2017 season.
“We (Chinatrust Brothers) need to work on our overall result and make some improvement in our marketing department” Said the Brothers GM earlier this year.

IT’S MORE THAN JUST A SPORT, IT’S A SHOW” Said Monkeys GM on the team’s marketing strategy.
