Wei Chuan Dragons News: Drew Gagnon

On December 10, GO Baseball reported that the Wei Chuan Dragons have re-signed Drew Gagnon for the 2026 CPBL season. The 35-year-old American right-hander will return for his sixth season in Taiwan.

Update: On January 15, GSI Agency revealed it was a two-year deal with the Dragons. This means Drew Gagnon will be active in Taiwan for 2026 (6th season) and 2027 (7th season).

Coming off from a 2-year deal, the 2025 season was a solid one for Drew Gagnon. He logged 146 innings across 24 starts and posted a respectable 2.77 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. He finished the year with a 3.01 WAR, 124 ERA+ and ranked fifth among all pitchers in both innings pitched (146) and strikeouts (120).

During the 2025 offseason, the Dragons’ general manager and manager told the media that although Drew Gagnon did not replicate his top-tier performance from the 2022–23 seasons, he was still highly reliable. They noted he would be a top priority to re-sign for 2026, a promise they ultimately fulfilled.
