CPBL Foreign Players Updates Volume #382
Wei Chuan Dragons News: Aaron Leasher
On March 14, TSNA reported that the Wei Chuan Dragons have signed Aaron Leasher for the 2025 CPBL season. The 28-year-old American left-hander will return for his second season in Taiwan after pitching for the Fubon Guardians in 2024.
Broadcaster Wang Yi-Hsuan revealed on social media that the Dragons are likely to use Aaron Leasher as a reliever, similar to how they utilised Rio Gomez in 2024.

Aaron Leasher joined the CPBL in 2024 as a mid-season signing by the Guardians. Since he was already active in the Atlantic League, he quickly got into game shape and made his CPBL debut on July 28.
Over nine appearances for the Guardians, Aaron Leasher posted a solid 2.21 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 53 innings. He recorded a respectable 20.6 K% and 24.6 Whiff%, but his 7.8 BB% was around the league-average level.
It is worth noting that Aaron Leasher showed signs of adjusting to CPBL competition towards the end of the 2024 season. In his final four starts, he compiled a 1.46 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 24 strikeouts over 24.2 innings. Given his late-season success, it came as a surprise that the Guardians opted not to bring him back for 2025.
With the signing of Aaron Leasher, the Wei Chuan Dragons now have Drew Gagnon (2-year deal), Bryan Woodall (domestic status), Jasier Herrera, Tyler Eppler and Zac Lowther as their foreign players.
