CPBL Foreign Players Updates Volume #397
Uni-Lions News: Cam Alldred
On August 11, broadcaster Wang Yi-Hsuan reported that the Uni-Lions have signed 29-year-old American left-hander Cam Alldred. He has reportedly reached an agreement with the team and is currently on his way to Taiwan.
According to Wang Yi-Hsuan, the Uni-Lions were initially targeting Caleb Baragar as their new foreign pitcher. However, Toros de Tijuana, Caleb Baragar’s Mexican League team, wouldn’t let go of his contract.
Cam Alldred began his professional career in 2018 with the Pittsburgh Pirates organisation and made his MLB debut in 2022, where he threw one scoreless inning in relief, allowing one hit and striking out one batter. After his brief stint in the majors, he spent the next season and a half entirely in Triple-A.
In May 2024, Cam Alldred left the MLB system to pursue opportunities in Asia, joining the KIA Tigers of the KBO as a temporary replacement foreign player. Over his three-month contract, he posted a 4.95 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 43.2 innings. He was released by the Tigers in August that year.
Before signing with the Uni-Lions, Cam Alldred pitched in the Mexican League for the Saraperos de Saltillo. In 27 appearances, including 12 starts, he recorded a 6.02 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over 58.1 innings.
With the signing of Cam Alldred, the Uni-Lions currently have Yohander Méndez, Brock Dykxhoorn and Félix Peña as their foreign players.
