CPBL Foreign Players Updates Volume #364
Uni-Lions News: Brock Dykxhoorn
On January 10, the Uni-Lions announced the re-signing of Brock Dykxhoorn for the 2025 CPBL season. The 30-year-old Canadian right-hander, who has the nickname “Big Doctor”, will return for his sixth season in Taiwan.
It wouldn’t surprise anyone that re-signing Brock Dykxhoorn has been one of the top priorities for the Uni-Lions this offseason. In 2024, Dykxhoorn has been as consistent as always, posting a 2.58 ERA and 1.16 WHIP over 122 innings.
With the signing of Brock Dykxhoorn, the Uni-Lions now have Yohander Méndez and C.C. Mercedes as their foreign players.
In a recent interview with Liberty Sports, the Uni-Lions’ general manager revealed they are unlikely to re-sign Mario Sanchez, as he may be looking to return to the MLB system. Meanwhile, the team have already started exploring other potential foreign pitcher options.

Foreign players come and go. Therefore, we have compiled a foreign player tracker, and I’ll be updating that list regularly to keep pace with the ever-changing roster shuffle throughout the 2025 CPBL season.
