TSG Hawks News: Reymin Guduan

On August 19, the TSG Hawks announced the release of Reymin Guduan. The 32-year-old Dominican left-hander finished his 2024 CPBL season with 10 saves, 5.58 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over 30.2 innings.

“I think it is pretty self-explanatory. We simply can’t have a foreign closer with an ERA over 5.00,” said the Hawks manager.

As per the analysis on Rebas Sports, Reymin Guduan, despite being a hard thrower, with his average velocity sitting at 151.6 kph (94.2 mph), maxing out at 160 kph (99.5 mph), the CPBL hitters are having no issue hitting his fastball.

According to the data, CPBL hitters have a batting average of .372 and a slugging percentage of .535 when facing Reymin Guduan’s fastball, which is a stark contrast with his curveball, where the hitters only compiled a .135 batting average.

With the release of Reymin Guduan, the TSG Hawks currently have Nick Margevicius, Steven Moya, Bradin Hagens, Ljay Newsome and Yoshida Kazumasa as their foreign players. The Hawks, being the expansion team, can carry one extra foreign player than other teams.
