After eight years of hiatus, FISU (International University Sports Federation) World University Baseball Championship is coming back.
From July 6th to 15th, eight countries (Taiwan, USA, Japan, Korea, Australia, Czech Republic, Hong Kong and Russia) will be competing in Chiayi City, Taiwan.
The tournament will be televised on FOX Sports in Taiwan, or alternatively, baseball fans around the world can stream the games on YouTube via SSUtv Sports.
2018 World University Baseball Championship Schedule
During the first phase, the teams are divided into two group of four teams for round robin group play.
- Group A – Taiwan, Korea, Australia, Czech Republic.
- Group B – USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Russia.
- 6th July 2018
- 09:00 – Hong Kong vs USA.
- 13:00 – Japan vs Russia.
- 17:00 – Korea vs Czech Republic.
- 7th July 2018
- 09:00 – Czech Republic vs Australia.
- 13:00 – Russia vs Hong Kong.
- 17:00 – Taiwan vs Korea.
- 8th July 2018
- 09:00 – Australia vs Korea.
- 13:00 – Japan vs USA.
- 17:00 – Taiwan vs Czech Republic.
- 9th July 2018
- 09:00 – Hong Kong vs Japan.
- 13:00 – USA vs Russia.
- 17:00 – Australia vs Taiwan
From July 11th to 13th, second phase (super round & consolation round) will start featuring cross group play between group A and B. After the super round, the winner and the final ranking will be determined from July 14th to 15th.
