Team Taiwan came out of the gate strong, scored 5 runs on 6 hits in the 1st inning of the game, with Uni-Lions 2017 #4 draft pick 吳桀睿 (Wu Chieh-Jui) started the Taiwanese offense with bases clearing triple.  The Taiwanese team kept the pressure on Czech Republic continued with another round of rallies in the 3rd and the 6th inning, which gives Taiwan a 11 runs lead over Czech Republic into the 7th inning.

Despite having a not so impressive CPBL record (8.53 ERA, 2.03 WHIP over 38 innings).  The 23-year-old CPBL rookie 陳明軒 (Chen Ming-Hsuan) did a phenomenal job, pitched 6 scoreless innings with 2 hits and 11 strikeouts.

I told myself this is the game we must win, at the same time not trying to give myself too much stress.  It’s a totally different mentality. In here (Universiade) I am pitching for the country.  Credits to my teammates fire support, which make me a lot more comfortable on the mound”  Said the starting pitcher 陳明軒 (Chen Ming-Hsuan) in the post-game interview.
