Fortune Construction Wins Tainan City’s Public Tender

After failing to attract bids for the previous four times, the Asia-Pacific International Baseball Stadiums and Training Centers is happening. Well, sort of happening in a way.

On February 6, Tainan City announced Fortune Construction had won the public tender to the first stage of the Asia-Pacific Baseball Complex. Based on public record, the winning bid is roughly 21 million USD for two little league stadiums within the complex. (Highlighted in red)

480 Days to Complete Stage One Construction

With the 2019 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup happening in July next year. The construction project will have 480 days to meet the deadline and get everything up and running.

According to the Public Works Department, the second stage of the Asia-Pacific International Baseball Stadiums and Training Centers will be up for tender once again.

Check the picture above, everything not highlighted in red are part of stage two construction. This includes two stadiums, two practice fields, indoor training facility and outdoor training facility.

Update: February 2019

Here’s some construction photos via Liberty Sports on the first stage of the Asia-Pacific International Baseball Stadiums and Training Centers. According to the Tainan City Council, the first stage of construction progress is currently at 55%. The council are aiming to finish the project by the end of June 2019.
