Rakuten Monkeys News: Kyle Marman
On July 23, the Rakuten Monkeys announced the release of Kyle Marman. According to the team, the 29-year-old American right-hander has decided to return home to be with his family following the premature birth of his child. As the situation makes it difficult for him to provide a clear timeline for his return, the team decided to release him.
The Monkeys’ assistant GM told the media that Kyle Marman performed well on the field and was a great teammate in the clubhouse. The team would love to discuss the possibility of bringing him back next year once his family situation has settled.
Kyle Marman finishes the 2026 CPBL season with a respectable 2.70 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 19.3 K%, and 7.0 BB% over 86.2 innings. It’s also worth noting that his 26.7 Whiff% would have ranked among the league leaders in percentile rankings.
With the release of Kyle Marman, the Rakuten Monkeys currently have Pedro Fernández (2-year deal), Tyler Eppler, Sakakibara Motoki [development player], Ronnie Dawson and Adam Walker as their group of foreign players for the 2026 CPBL season.
