Hitting a home run in your first at-bat is probably one of the hardest personal achievement. But it’s not the case for Lamigo’s rookie 林立 (Lin Li), as the rookie drills one into deep center in his 1st CPBL at-bat last night.

林立 (Lin Li) making strong 1st impression
Lamigo Monkeys 2017 2nd round draft pick certainly makes a strong first impression to the management team. The 21-year-old rookie finished his CPBL debut 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base and a nice defensive play.
“I was very nervous before the game, but not anymore once I stepped into the batter’s box, as there’s no time to overthink. Just trying to do my best.” Said the 21-year-old rookie.
“Lin’s call-up wasn’t part of our original plan. The plan was send him to the farm team, but with our utility player 余德龍 (Yu Te-Lung) still listed day-to-day, we thought let’s give Lin a shot in the top team” The Monkeys skipper told the press after the game.

Not the first CPBL player to do that
Based on our research. 林立 (Lin Li) wasn’t the first CPBL player to hit a home run in his first at-bat. He is actually the 7th player/ 2nd Taiwanese player to do so. Uni-Lions 13 years veteran 劉芙豪 (Liu Fu-Hao) was the first Taiwanese player to achieved that back in 2004 as a pinch hitter in the 9th inning.
