It’s a tough night for both Lamigo Monkeys and Fubon Guardians. Both teams have lost their primary position players last night due to injuries, and potentially will miss out the entire 2017 season.
Lamigo Monkeys – 黃浩然 Huang Hao-Jan – Catcher
黃浩然 (Huang Hao-Jan) exits the game after the home plate collision with the runner on his already injured forearm. Shortly after the game, the team confirmed that Huang will be out at least 4-6 weeks with a forearm fracture.
With farm team top prospect 張閔勛 (Chang Min-Hsun) being forced by CTBA to participate in the upcoming 2017 Universiade Game. The available catcher 林泓育 (Lin Hung-Yu) is sort of day-to-day with minor discomfort in his waist. Monkeys is essentially out of catchers with Huang Hao-Jan being on the disabled list.
劉時豪 (Liu Shih-Hao) will most likely to take up the primary catcher role and maybe will have to call up one of the farm team back-up catchers to the top team.
Fubon Guardians – 陳凱倫 Chen Kai-Lun – Shortstop
Despite snapping their 8-game losing streak, Guardians have nothing to be happy about. As their infield wiz 陳凱倫 (Chen Kai-Lun) was hit on the hand by a pitch and exits the game with a fractured finger. According to the team, Chen is expect to be out for 4-6 weeks.
With Chen out of commission we’ll probably see 高國麟 (Kao Kuo-Lin) covering 3B while 林威廷 (Lin Wei-Ting) and rookie 陳品捷 (Chen Pin-Chieh) taking the SS and 2B positions.
