With the 2017 CPBL opening day just around the corner (25th March). Fubon Guardians have announced multi-year contract extension with several Guardians’ top players and the management team.
After leading EDA Rhinos to win the Taiwan Series in 2016. The CPBL 2016 manager of the year 葉君璋 (Yeh Chun-Chang) got a 2-year contract extension with option after 2019 season.
林益全 (Lin Yi-Chun) the 3-time CPBL MVP has agreed to a 2-year deal with Fubon Guardians. Lin will received no less than 300K USD per year with the possibility of salary increase in the 2nd year, should he achieve the 2017 organizational goals.
With this new 2-year deal which mean Lin Yi-Chun will not be able to file for free agency after the 2017 season.
The 3-time CPBL home run champion 高國輝 (Kao Kuo-Hui) and the former Los Angeles Dodgers 胡金龍 (Hu Chin-Lung) also agreed to a 2-year & 3-year contract extension. Both players salary package will be no less than 260K USD per year with the option to increase based on their 2017 performance.
Although still under contract, Guardians also extended the 2016 Taiwan Series MVP 林哲瑄 (Lin Che-Hsuan) to a 2-year contract, with the new salary packaging starting at 220K USD.
