CPBL Foreign Players Updates Volume #412
Fubon Guardians News: Shawn Morimando
On December 16, UDN reported that the Fubon Guardians have re-signed Shawn Morimando for the 2026 CPBL season. The 33-year-old American left-hander will return for his sixth season in Taiwan.
According to the Guardians, they have reached an agreement with Shawn Morimando and will make an official announcement at a later date.
After spending the majority of the 2023 and 2024 CPBL seasons in rehabilitation following Tommy John surgery, Shawn Morimando left the CTBC Brothers and signed with the Fubon Guardians for the 2025 season. In 23 appearances, he posted a 2.98 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over 139 innings, along with a 19 K% and a 7.38 BB%.
Perhaps most encouragingly, Shawn Morimando proved that he is once again healthy enough to handle a full-season workload as a starting pitcher, giving the Guardians a reliable and experienced option at the top of their rotation heading into 2026.
