Fubon Guardians manager has confirmed the organisation will be in contact with with former MLB All-Star 郭泓志 (Kuo Hong-Chih) who recently returned from USA. (Read more about Kuo Hong-Chih’s decision to return to Taiwan)
Guardians skipper 葉君璋 (Yeh Chun-Chang) mentioned to the media today.
“Our current problem is with our bullpen, if we can sign Kuo it will be a huge benefit for the team. We’ll be meeting Kuo in Tainan next Friday, hopefully we can finalised the contract before the end of the month”
Fubon Guardians eyeing for new backup foreign pitcher
With Chris Seddon and Scott Richmond currently struggling in their role the last few weeks. Guardians now have plan to bring in another foreign player as the 4th backup. Kuo Hong-Chih’s signing will impact the Guardians’ decision whether the new foreign pitcher will be starter or a reliever. (Read more about CPBL foreign players in 2017 season)
Under the current CPBL rule, each team can only have 3 foreign players registered in the top team. So should Fubon Guardians sign a new foreign player and promote him to the top team, they will have to release someone.
