CTBC Brothers News: Nivaldo Rodriguez

On 15 December, the CTBC Brothers announced the re-signing of Nivaldo Rodriguez for the 2026 CPBL season. The 28-year-old Venezuelan right-hander will return for his third season in Taiwan.

Following his outstanding 2024 campaign with the Fubon Guardians, Nivaldo Rodriguez successfully carried that form over to the CTBC Brothers in 2025, even showing a slight improvement. Across 25 appearances, he posted an excellent 1.84 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over 156.1 innings, along with 4.74 WAR, 22.8 K%, 25.9 Whiff%, and 5.63 BB%.

In the postseason, Nivaldo Rodriguez started Game 1 and Game 4 of the 2025 Taiwan Series, recording a 3.00 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP over 12 innings. Although the CTBC Brothers ultimately fell short of winning the 2025 championship, Nivaldo Rodriguez firmly established himself as the ace of the Brothers’ pitching staff.
