CPBL Foreign Players Updates Volume #389
CTBC Brothers News: Brandon Leibrandt
On June 12, the CTBC Brothers announced the signing of 32-year-old American left-hander Brandon Leibrandt. According to the team, Brandon Leibrandt already arrived in Taiwan on June 11 and reported to the team.
“The Brothers will continue to strengthen our foreign player roster, and we look forward to the addition of Brandon Leibrandt, who brings years of experience from the MLB system,” said the Brothers’ general manager.
Brandon Leibrandt began his professional career in 2014 with the Philadelphia Phillies system and made his MLB debut in 2020 with the Miami Marlins, where he posted a 2.00 ERA over 9 innings.
Following his first tour of the big leagues, from 2021 to 2024, Brandon Leibrandt spent most of his time in Triple-A and Atlantic League, pitching for the Marlins, Cubs, and Reds. He received another MLB call-up with the Reds in 2024 but struggled, finishing with a 9.95 ERA across 6.1 innings.
After the 2024 season, Brandon Leibrandt signed a minor league deal with the New York Yankees and was assigned to Triple-A in 2025. Prior to joining the CTBC Brothers, Brandon Leibrandt appeared in 10 Triple-A games, recording a solid 2.85 ERA and 1.12 WHIP over 41 innings.
With the addition of Brandon Leibrandt, the CTBC Brothers’ current foreign player group consists of José De Paula (shoulder/arm inflammation), Humberto Castellanos, Mario Sanchez (shoulder injury), Nivaldo Rodriguez, and Nolan Watson.
Further Readings
Foreign players come and go. Therefore, we have compiled a foreign player tracker, and I’ll be updating that list regularly to keep pace with the ever-changing roster shuffle throughout the 2025 CPBL season.

Seems like a good sign. Leibrandt was pitching well in AAA.
Yeah, on paper solid Triple-A guy should do well. While we are at this, Conner Greene, is another new foreign pitcher. Will most likely play for the Dragons, but they haven’t announce it yet.
Good first outing — no runs, six Ks in 4 IP.
