CPBL Loosen Fan Limits to 78% Capacity

On July 23, the CPBL announced they are going to increase the attendance limits from 50% to 78% stadium capacity in the second half of the 2020 season.

A few days ago, Taiwan’s Sports Administration approved the 78% seating capacity proposal. According to the CPBL commissioner, it will be up to each team to decide their plan going forward.

The league started the season with zero fans in the stands and then gradually increased the attendance limits from 250, 1000, 2000, 50% stadium capacity and now 78% stadium capacity. [More on Taiwan’s CPBL coronavirus timeline]

As of July 26, there have been only 458 confirmed coronavirus cases with seven death in Taiwan. Out of those 458 confirmed cases, 440 have since recovered. The last local case was 103 days ago.
