2024 CPBL Awards Results

On November 4, the CPBL players, coaches, and hundreds of fans from the CPBL gathered for the 2024 CPBL Awards Ceremony.

Throughout the night, awards were presented to players in various categories, including the Gold Glove, Best Nine, and individual stats leaders.

Additionally, the league announced the recipients of major awards, such as MVP, Rookie of the Year, and Most Improved Player, as voted by members of the media.

Note: I don’t have time to cover all the categories, so I will just pick a few important ones worth writing for.

MVP: Gu Lin Ruei-Yang (古林睿煬)

“I hope my father and grandfather, who have both passed away, would be proud of me. It took me six years to get here, and I want to thank my coaches and trainers for supporting me along the way. For those who questioned my ability over the years, standing here with this MVP award is my best answer to them,” said Gu Lin Ruei-Yang. “I also want to show Taiwanese high school baseball players that it’s possible to improve in the CPBL and still have the chance to go overseas via the posting system.”

Note: Gu Lin Ruei-Yang has recently filed for international free agency. Through the posting system, he is expected to sign with an NPB team in the next few weeks.

Voted by CPBL fans, Yueh Cheng-Hua’s home run robbing catch was crowned 2024 Play of the Year.

  1. Regarding Gu Lin Ruei-Yang: which NPB team do you think is most likely to sign him? I’m thinking he’d improve the starting rotations of Rakuten, Chiba, Chunichi, Yakult most
