2018 CPBL Minor League Award Winners
With the 2018 CPBL minor league season done and dusted, the league have announced the individual award winners for the 2018 season on October 8.
The Brothers and the Monkeys are this years’ biggest winners, as they have the most players received the annual minor league awards.
Minor League Hitting Awards
- Brothers’ 許基宏 (Hsu Chi-Hung): HR (15), RBI (47)
- Brothers’ 陳文杰 (Chen Wen-Chieh): AVG (.341), Hits (77), SB (20)
Minor League Pitching Awards
- Lamigo Monkeys’ 黃子鵬 (Huang Tzu-Peng): Wins (6)
- Brothers’ Elih Villanueva: ERA (2.66), Strikeouts (75)
- Lamigo Monkeys’ 陳敏賜 (Chen Min-Sih): Holds (10)
- Lamigo Monkeys’ 游宗儒 (Yu Tsung-Ju): Saves (6)
Are these players likely to play during the Winter league in Taichung/Douliu?
Hard to say, since the Winter League is mostly for the newer prospects who doesn’t get enough game time in the minor league or 1st team.
But would be nice to see Hsu Chi-Hung go for some tuning games this year. I don’t think Huang Tzu-Peng will go, because he already pitched enough in the minor and 1st team this season. Probably want to shut him down during the winter.
